우주라는 말은 지구를 포함한 태양계를 말하기도하지만 물질, 공간, 시간을 포함하는 말이다. 지구 밖의 우주를 말할 때는 원우주(遠宇宙)라고 말한다.

The word “universe” indicates the solar system but also includes our Milky Way galaxy everything beyond it. The universe beyond the Milky Way galaxy is called the distant universe.
